"Entourage"
Season 1:
We follow a rising actor and his friends trough the day to day life in Los Angeles.
One of my good friends told me about this show, and as always I was skeptic. However after watching the first episode I was hooked. The acting is great and the script seems solid. It's also very funny which is essential in a comedy show. However it's not cheap gags like some shows, the humor is written well into the main story and dialog. Including some real celebrities playing themselves makes the show extra interesting and fun to watch. Too top it all off the music fits perfectly making this show and all fun experience. Season 1 gets 9/10
Season 2:
Vincent Chase is back and so are his friends. And everything is at stake when the movie Aquaman presents itself.
The second season of Entourage was as good as the first if not even better. Our movie star has to deal with new problems both related to the business and private life. His friends are also having ups and downs. The main story is still strong with a good script and very funny dialog. This being a comedy show that's a good thing of course. However it's also this time around more than just comedy, we really get too know the characters and their feelings, making it a drama as well. Acting is as good as before as well. The end of season 2 is even stronger than season 1 and I can't wait to see what the team has in store for season 3. 9/10 based on season 1 and 2
Season 3:
Vincent Chase and his friends are back. We start of with the premier of his movie Aquaman. We follow him firing his Agent and finding a new one. And end with him getting a new movie called Medellin. That and a lot more is in store in season 3.
Entourage is a fascinating show. I believe it shows the life in Hollywood and the way Hollywood works very accurately. It has a good blend of drama and comedy and all the characters are very likable (or unlikable when intended). Season 3's storyline was maybe a little less interesting than the first two seasons, but it was still very enjoyable. I kept laughing out loud and after most episodes I had a big smile on my face.
The score is still good with great music choices. I am looking forward to what season 4 has in store. The show can't get much better than it already is, but anything is possible. Based on the first 3 seasons I rate it 9/10
Season 4:
The boys return from the set of Medellin and continue their life in LA. They team up with Ari Gold again and also run into some problems with Billy Walsh who directed Medellin. He sent the movie to Cannes without telling anyone.
The show continues where season 3 left off. Pretty much everything regarding acting, directing, music and so forth continue to keep the same pace and quality of the previous seasons. The story is still new and fresh as the life of our 4 friends progress. The humor is still great which is essential for this show to keep being interesting.
The Ari Gold character keeps getting better and more interesting and without him the show wouldn't be the same. Jeremy Piven is a fantastic actor and is a large part of what makes Entourage so brilliant. 9/10 based on the first 4 seasons.
Season 5:
After the failure at Cannes with "Medellin" our four friends have to regroup. After some back and forth a new project emerges called "Smokejumpers".
The story steadily progresses trough another season filled with comedy and drama. Not much has changed since the last season in terms of characters or themes and that is a good thing. The show has settled nicely and I like it the way it is.
The writers keep coming up with funny situations and the story is still interesting. My only remark was that it felt like season 5 was supposed to be longer, but was cut down. The story was a little jumpy but it was nothing I could not handle. The normal flow of guest actors playing themselves is present in this season as well.
Ari Gold played by Jeremy Piven is still my favorite character in Entourage and he is also in my eyes the best actor. Without him this show would only be half as funny. Overall Season 5 keeps the series going as we like it and my hopes are high for the next season as well. 9/10 based on the first five seasons.
