"The Office"

US version:
Season 1:
Watched season 1 of "the Office" the other day, its an OK show, its not exactly my humor, so not all the jokes are that funny to me, I am sure other people might think differently. We follow a paper companies employees as they interact at the workplace. Some of the characters are more annoying than funny, and some are very likeable. Based on the first season I give this show a 6/10. This might change when I watch the other seasons.

Season 2:
The life at the office continues.

After watching the first season I was a bit negative to the series. However after pressure from my sister I finally sucked it up and watched season 2. Thankfully "The Office" is a show you need time to grow into. I liked the show better and better after each episode. I think the main reason is that it requires some time to get comfortable and used to the humor. When you do however you will smile and laugh almost constantly.

Each episode features a miniplot with awkward or hilarious storyline. We also follow the life and relationships of the characters throughout the season. The season finale was especially good mixing in some drama. The characters really grow on you and you start to feel for them.

Acting is very good and every stereotype is portrayed hilariously. I hope the show keeps being as good as season 2 was or that it gets even better. 8/10

Season 3:
The life at the office continues with more funny jokes, awkward situations and overall good humor. The underlying storyline also progresses.

There isn't too much to say about season 3. It continues where season 2 left off. All the characters are still likable and we are also introduced to several new ones. The miniplots are still entertaining and the jokes are funny. Most of the season goes by while we hope for Jim and Pam to get together, but there always seems to be something or someone in the way. Overall it's still a great show that everyone should see. 8/10

Season 4:
In this new season of "The Office" things are a bit changed making this a fresh and new season with a lot of fun and jokes.

I do have some mixed feelings with the forth season though. I will admit I was a little let down by the Jim and Pam relationship. They could have done more. However it does get better in the later episodes. It might be that after 3 full seasons of waiting I had too high expectations. However this season has some of the best individual episodes of the whole show so far. A lot more drama is mixed in with the comedy tying the episodes better together. They moved a few characters around to spice things up and I think it was a smart move. This way we do not get tired with the exact same people having the exact same roles.

The end of the season seemed a bit rushed, but the season finale still had some great cliffhangers and I am very much looking forward to watch season 5. I am keeping the overall score at 8/10 for now, but if season 5 is really good this might change.

Season 5:
As we enter season five of the popular mockumentary about the American office work place, the story keeps unfolding and we are introduced to some new and some old characters from previous seasons.

I can see how the show can get a little boring after a while. There is not much "new" in each episode, just different versions of the same. However, where most shows fail, The Office prevails. The writers keep the humor alive and most episodes are a true joy to watch. However I do see a trend in season five where the story has a bit to many twists and turns that feel halfway planned. Especially the end felt very anti climatic.

Steve Carell (Michael), Rainn Wilson (Dwight), John Krasinski (Jim) and Jenna Fischer (Pam) are all spot on in their roles. B.J. Novak (Ryan), Angela Kinsey (Angela) and a few other supporting characters are a little more all over the place. I hope that in the next season these characters settle a bit more down.

The office is primarily a comedy show and as that is has succeeded tremendously. Season five is full of great humor moments and will guarantee make you laugh. The drama part is a bit more unstable with the story being weaker than previously. Overall season five gets 7/10 and overall the show gets 8/10

Season 6:
Another season of The Office brings around both surprising and anticipated changes in the hugely popular show about office workers in a paper company called Dandler Muffling. Or is that the name...?

Season six of the Office continues on where season five left off. Among the highlights this season is a wedding, new women in Michael Scoot's life and a big change to the company. Fans of the show will still be happy, all the great characters are still there and the show is still filled with humor and wit. I found the first part of the season to slow down a bit and I was afraid that the show was going downhill for real, but then it really picked up again about half way through and ended with a bang that left me wanting more. I think the creators realized that they were steering away from what people have loved with the show and then decided to go back to the old recipe. A good example are the jokes Jim pull on Dwight which came back in the end of the season.

The show still manages to balance humor and drama in a great way. The heartwarming moments are there to give the characters more depth and the balance between those and the funny scenes is good. There are some absolutely fantastic story lines towards the end of the season that had me laughing hard. For me The Office as a whole still deserves a 8/10, I hope season seven becomes just as good.
