"Gossip Girl"

Season 1:
Based on the books by Cecily von Ziegesar, Gossip Girl is about the life on the upper east side of Manhattan, NY. We follow a group of teenagers and their parents as they go to school, host parties and date.

Gossip Girl is not the kind of show I would normally watch and as such I was fairly reluctant to do so. Several female friends of me told me it was a great show, and since I never say no to a potentially good TV-series I watched it. One season later, I have to admit it was a lot better than I had imagined.

The story is well written and filled with plot twists that keeps the viewer interested. You never really know what is going to happen next, and I found that to be a very strong reason to keep watching. The acting is also great. Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Taylor Momsen and Ed Westwick are all perfect for their roles. The rest of the cast are a few paces behind but still very good. I think one of the reasons why the show is interesting to watch is that it tries to tell us that just because you have a lot of money and are privileged, it doesn't mean you do not have the same problems as everyone else when it comes to relationships, parenting and growing up.

For me Gossip Girl is a guilty pleasure and I am glad I watched it. I am looking forward to season 2 and hope it will be as good as season 1. Gossip Girl is a typical female show but it can be entertaining to males as well, don't let anyone decide for you, but watch it and make up your own mind. 8/10

Season 2:
A new year of school for the teenagers from the upper east side. This also means that some have to start to get ready for college, while others again have other plans.

Season 2 of Gossip Girl is much of the same as season 1. This is a positive thing. You know where you have the show and it doesn't go to far off from its original idea. I felt that the story was ramped up a bit, with more twists and turns and overall craziness.

I felt that the second season was a but more up and down in quality. The Blair/Chuck relationship is still all over the place, but that is actually a good thing and keeps the show interesting. The rest of the characters are a bit back and forth in the dating compartment. There are several quest appearances, some nice additions to the regular cast, but others horrible choices.

Overall season 2 of Gossip Girl is still fun to watch. It is not as good as season 1, but it kept me entertained and wanting more. Especially the last few episodes rounded the season nicely off, and gives the viewer something to look forward to in season 3. Season 2 gets a 7/10 from me, with the show as a whole still at 8/10

Season 3:
Season rating 8/10

Season 4:
Season rating 7/10
Overall rating 8/10
