Saving Private Ryan

11.02.2009
We follow a group of soldiers surviving D-Day, they are ordered to find and send home a paratrooper named Ryan who's 3 brothers where killed.

Saving Private Ryan is possibly the most realistic war movie ever made, and one of the best ones, maybe only seconded by Shindler's List. Steven Spielberg uses all his talent in making the experience so authentic it's downright scary. The Omaha beach scene is breathtaking and incredibly well made.

The movie is not for everyone though, it has very strong images of body parts being blown off and gunshot wounds, this however adds to the experience. You almost feel as if you are participating, not watching. Needless to say the acting is flawless, Tom Hanks yet again proving he is one of the best actors alive, but the whole cast does an amazing job. The music is also wonderful, thanks to John Williams.

If you want a movie that really shows how WWII was, including all the brutal violence, emotions and bravery, this is the movie you should watch. 10/10

Watched Saving Private Ryan again and it was still as powerful and realistic as I remembered. This movie has to be one of the best war movies ever made. 10/10
