Equilibrium

15.03.2009
In the future, when most of man kind are wiped out due too world war III, the survivors are all grouped in one large city, run by a man named only father. Everyone is forced to take a drug that removes the ability to feel, thus "cleansing" the world of evil.

I remember first watching this movie and not knowing a thing about it. This time around I know a lot. Often compared to The Matrix this movie takes a look at our future and what could happen if we loose the ability to feel. The theme is very interesting, raising the question: Are we even human without feelings?

The story and setting takes the movie a good piece of the way, but what makes it really good is the acting and action sequences. Acting is excellent, with Christian Bale performing yet another great role. The action is also wonderful, especially the gunfights. There is a certain style over them, in fact the whole movie has a special style, reminds me a little of film noir. It makes the movie that much better from all the other average action flicks released. Second time around watching it, it is still high on my list of favorites. 9/10

My sister wanted to watch this late at night and I agreed to view it one more time. My opinion of the movie did not change in any direction and it still gets 9/10 from me.
