Visitor Q

A dysfunctional family gets help in the strangest possible way when Visitor Q arrives to live with them.

I have for a time now been interested in extreme cinema and other weird, provoking or out there movies. After watching "Oldboy" I was reading the IMDb forums and ran across this title. It was posted under movies with provoking themes and I must say that fits the description very well.

We start off with a scene involving a father and his daughter in a hotel room and from there it only gets weirder and worse. The movie involves scenes of necrophilia, lactating and abuse and will for many disgust or repulse.

The story was actually pretty good. The family is so dysfunctional at first glance there is nothing that seems to work. But when a stranger arrives, known only as Visitor Q, things start to change. Using unorthodox methods he turns the family around into a more loving and functional one. The acting is also decent and these two elements save the movie from being a waste of time.

As far as I understood this was a low budget flick. The quality of the picture is not that great. If this was done on purpose or not I do not know. Another thing that I personally did not like was the attempt at comedy. It is listed as a comedy among other things and many people have posted that they found it funny. Personally it was just to strange and morbid to be funny. That's not saying its a bad movie, I just didn't get the comedy part and enjoyed the movie as a Drama.

If you are into extreme movies I suggest you take a look at this film. Otherwise you are probably better off watching something more mainstream. 6/10
