I stumbled across a picture from this movie randomly on the internet and it spiked my interest. I had never heard about the movie before, but with actors like Sean Penn it wasn't long before I got a hold of it.
Teenage movies are ether crappy or really awesome. "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" was really good. Set in the early 80's some may think the message is too old for today's youth. Surprisingly what teenagers did and thought at that time is just as relevant today almost 30 years later. We still go shopping at the malls and hang out with our friends. Talk about sex and party.
Today if you look at the cast it is filled with great actors and actresses. Many of them where unknown when this movie was made and later on got famous. What they all have in common is great talent and the acting is great throughout. Sean Penn does a unforgettable role as the stoned Jeff Spicoli, and Jennifer Jason Leigh is lovely and sexy as Stacy Hamilton.
The movie is very easy to watch. Directing is solid with a nice flow trough the movie and accompanied by a great score of old classics. After the movie ended I caught myself wishing I had gone to Ridgemont High and been one of the characters. I have no doubt that I will watch this again several times in my future. 8/10
